THE ART OF TELEPHONE SALES TRAINING

Being able to sell on the telephone is an art as well as a skill. It takes time. I am about to tell you briefly how i went from a complete newbie on the phone to making $50000 off a twenty minute sales call.

It started like this, two years ago to be exact i was out of work and was actively looking for work. So one day i bought one of the national daily papers. I looked in it and saw a job advertised about a telesales job based in barcelona spain. Now i had never undergone telephone sales training before. but what sparked my interest was that the ad claimed that you could make $100,000+ a year.

So i applied for the job by sending an email with CV to the email contact. Then i forgot about and went on applying for other jobs. I did come across other sales training jobs in the paper but none of them looked enticing, probably because they were low paying. Anyway two weeks later i got a call out of the blue from a guy called Malcom. He said he was calling about the telephone sales training career ad i had responded to in the paper. I was excited! He told me that if i was interested in the telephone sales training job that i should come for a face to face interview with him in Manchester wich is in the northwest of England.

So i told my family that i had got an interview for the telephone sales training job. I went there got the job and he booked a flight all paid for to Barcelona forthe following week. I had told Malcom that i had no prior telephone sales training exeperience and he said that the company that i would work for would teach me everything i needed to know.

So the next week i fly out to Barcelona to begin my telephone sales training. The company was run by some American and they were selling forex investment packages to investors in the United Kingdom.

I was given my own apartment overlooking the mediterenian sea. Barcelona is a beautiful city. at work i was given a script to master and given a stack of leads to call. Were expected to dial 300 to 500 phone numbers a day and get at least two prospects who were interested in recieving a second call a few days later from my team leader who would eventually try and close the deal and get the prospect to invest 10,000 dollars. The commission structure was good. If the prospect invested 10,000 dollars i would recieve 500 dollars commission. it took me three months to get my first account and the second guy i got into the market sent 10,000 dollars initially, then when he made a profit on his initial investment he sent us 1 million dollars and i recieved 50,000 dollars in commision!

The telephone sales training was hard but it paid off in the end!
