The need for a workflow management system and a proper management in any organization is very essential as it influences the efficiency of the firm.However, it is the desire of many organisation to always try to maximise benefits with the least cost available at their disposal.This is always achievable by a way of integrating every section or conponents of the organization inorder to achieve a well defined business process management system aswellas aiming to achieve their goals and objectives.Many individuals in the world today,have different view about the study of management.some say that it involves scientific means of achiving stated goals and objectives while many says it involves the acts of men.However,it is factual to understand that proper management system determines efficiency in terms of productivity in the firm and a business process management system .Despite the concentration of power at the highest management level,the need for participation of every section in the organisation enhances an effective business process management system .Organizations are made up of people who are assigned to carry out specific functions for a proper running of the organization.According to Beach(1960),workers participation is the process by which workers contribute ideas towards the solution of a problem affecting the organization and their jobs.The system concept is often used in bussiness to highlight the interrelationship between the functional areas of management.These basic functional areas such as production,marketing,finance,procurement and personnel could be seen as the sud-systems which are used to attain desied objectives.However,the functions of the individuals in each sub-systems are integrated as aworkflow management system inorder to achieve specified goals and objectives.

In recent years,there has been a growing tendency to recognise organizations as a complex integrated system of interrelated variables separately,the traditional pratice of examing organizational variables simultaneouslyas encouraged the need for a business process management system .The approach is to identify the sections of the organization and discover how these sectins operate interdependently.Chester Barnatd characterized all organizations as co orperative systems.However, he defined a coorperative system as a complex of physical,biological,personal and social components which are in specific systematic relationship by reason of the coorperation of two or more persons for at least one definite end.Futhermore,Ludwig Von Bertalanffy opined that in order to understand an organized whole, we must know both the parts aswellas the relations between them.In line with these ideas,a business process management system may be defined as an orderly grouping of separate but interdependent components i.e.variouse areas of management or departments in an organization for the purpose of attaing some predetermined goals and objectives.This definition reveals some important aspects of management which are ;the hierarchical arrangement of management components in an orderly manner no matter the complexity it may adopt,a basic communication among each components since the components of the system are interdependent,a line of control must exist between variouse sections aswellas a principle of common objectives which must be oriented towards any interaction among the components for an efficient business process management system .

In conclusion,a workflow management system inspires an integrated management system with a view of achieving organizational goals and objectives.
